Privacy

The short version: no accounts, no tracking cookies, no ads, and your practice data never leaves your device. Last updated September 30, 2026.

What ChordWiki collects

ChordWiki uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits: which pages are viewed, the site that linked to them, and general information such as country, device type, browser and how fast pages load. It uses no cookies, doesn’t build a profile of you and doesn’t follow you across other websites. The numbers are only ever seen as totals. You can read Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

That’s it: there are no accounts, no sign-up forms, no advertising and no tracking pixels, and the site itself sets no cookies. (If Cloudflare ever needs to check that a visitor isn’t a bot, it may set a short-lived security cookie for that purpose only.)

What stays on your device

Some things are saved in your own browser (using its local storage) so the site remembers them next time. They are never sent to ChordWiki or anyone else:

You can delete all of it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

Microphone

The tuners and the chord trainer’s listen mode use your microphone only when you start them, and only after your browser asks your permission. The sound is analyzed on your device, in real time. It is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere, and the microphone is switched off when you stop or leave the page.

Share links

When you share a song from the song sheet builder, the song itself is stored inside the link. Nothing is uploaded — but anyone you give the link to can read the song.

Services that help run the site

Email

If you email hello@chordwiki.com, your address and message are used only to reply to you, and are never shared or added to a mailing list.

Changes and questions

If this policy changes — for example if the site ever shows ads — this page will be updated first, with a new date at the top. Questions? Email hello@chordwiki.com.
