How to play it · Open position

  1. Lay your index finger (1) flat across 4 strings at the 2nd fret — this is the barre.
  2. 6th string (low E): don’t play — mute it
  3. 5th string (A): play open A
  4. 4th string (D): 2nd fret, held by the barre E
  5. 3rd string (G): 2nd fret, held by the barre A
  6. 2nd string (B): 2nd fret, held by the barre C♯
  7. 1st string (high E): 2nd fret, held by the barre F♯
