Tips for playing G on guitar
There are two standard fingerings for 320003: fingers 2-1-3, or 3-2-4 with the index finger left free. The 3-2-4 version makes switching to C much quicker. 320033 adds a D on the B string for a fuller, more modern sound.
You’ll find G in common progressions such as G–D–Em–C (the pop progression in G major), G–C–D–C (three-chord rock in G major) and G–Em–C–D (the ’50s progression in G major).
