Tips for playing A♯maj9 on ukulele
On ukulele the usual A♯maj9 shape is 5555, with the index finger barring all four strings at the 5th fret. It leaves out the root, which a bass player (or your ear) fills in.
Notice the C𝄪 in A♯maj9 (A♯ C𝄪 E♯ G𝄪 B♯): each note of the chord takes its own letter (A–C–E–G–B), so the major 3rd has to be written C𝄪 rather than D — the same key on a piano, spelled to fit the chord.
