  1. Lay your index finger (1) flat across 2 strings at the 1st fret — this is the barre.
  2. 4th string (G): 3rd fret, ring finger (3) A♯
  3. 3rd string (C): 3rd fret, pinky finger (4) D♯
  4. 2nd string (E): 1st fret, held by the barre E♯
  5. 1st string (A): 1st fret, held by the barre A♯

Tips for playing A♯sus4 on ukulele

On ukulele the usual A♯sus4 shape is 3311, with a small 2-string barre at the 1st fret.

Notice the E♯ in A♯sus4 (A♯ D♯ E♯): each note of the chord takes its own letter (A–D–E), so the perfect 5th has to be written E♯ rather than F — the same key on a piano, spelled to fit the chord.
