Tips for playing D on ukulele

Three fingers lined up across the 2nd fret of the G, C and E strings (2220). Many players find it easier to lay one finger across all three, or to use middle, ring and pinky.

You’ll find D in common progressions such as D–A–Bm–G (the pop progression in D major), D–G–A–G (three-chord rock in D major) and D–Bm–G–A (the ’50s progression in D major).
