Playing it

On guitar, Gdim has an open-position shape, 31x023, using four fingers alongside the open strings. Don’t strum the D string.

On piano, Gdim has two black keys (B♭ and D♭) and one white key.

On ukulele the usual Gdim shape is 0131, using three fingers.

Related chords

Move a single note and Gdim becomes a different chord: raise D♭ to D for Gm, add F for Gm7♭5 and add F♭ for Gdim7.
