Playing it

On guitar, Edim is one of the friendlier shapes: 0120x0 needs just two fingers and lets the open strings ring. Don’t strum the B string.

On piano, Edim has one black key (B♭) and two white keys.

On ukulele the usual Edim shape is 0401, using two fingers.

Related chords

Move a single note and Edim becomes a different chord: raise B♭ to B for Em, add D for Em7♭5 and add D♭ for Edim7.
