How to play Bsus2

About the B suspended 2nd chord

Playing it

There’s no open-string way to play Bsus2 on guitar with the root in the bass, so the standard shape is a barre across the 2nd fret (x24422).

On piano, Bsus2 has two black keys (C♯ and F♯) and one white key.

On ukulele the usual Bsus2 shape is 4122, using four fingers.

Related chords

Bsus2 contains exactly the same notes as F♯sus4. Which name fits depends on which note is in the bass and what key you’re in.

Move a single note and Bsus2 becomes a different chord: swap C♯ for D♯ for B, raise C♯ to D for Bm, swap C♯ for E for Bsus4 and add D♯ for Badd9.
