How to play B5

About the B power chord chord

Playing it

On guitar, the usual B5 shape is x244xx at the 2nd fret. It has no open strings, so it’s a movable shape — slide it along the neck for other power chord chords. Don’t strum the low E, B and high E strings.

On piano, B5 has one black key (F♯) and one white key.

On ukulele the usual B5 shape is x679, using three fingers up at the 6th fret.

Related chords

Move a single note and B5 becomes a different chord: add D♯ for B, add D for Bm, add E for Bsus4 and add C♯ for Bsus2.
