On guitar, F7♯9 is most often played as a barre chord across the 1st fret (131214).

On piano, F7♯9 has two black keys (E♭ and G♯) and three white keys. In root position it spans more than an octave, so many pianists play the root with the left hand and the rest with the right.

On ukulele the usual F7♯9 shape is 1310, using three fingers.
