How to play F5

About the F power chord chord

Playing it

On guitar, the usual F5 shape is 133xxx at the 1st fret. It has no open strings, so it’s a movable shape — slide it along the neck for other power chord chords. Don’t strum the G, B and high E strings.

On piano, F5 sits entirely on white keys.

On ukulele the usual F5 shape is x013, using two fingers.

Related chords

Move a single note and F5 becomes a different chord: add A for F, add A♭ for Fm, add B♭ for Fsus4 and add G for Fsus2.
