How to play F♯5

About the F♯ power chord chord

Playing it

On guitar, the usual F♯5 shape is 244xxx at the 2nd fret. It has no open strings, so it’s a movable shape — slide it along the neck for other power chord chords. Don’t strum the G, B and high E strings.

On piano, every note of F♯5 is a black key.

On ukulele the usual F♯5 shape is x124, using three fingers.

Related chords

Move a single note and F♯5 becomes a different chord: add A♯ for F♯, add A for F♯m, add B for F♯sus4 and add G♯ for F♯sus2.
