How to play C5

About the C power chord chord

Playing it

On guitar, the usual C5 shape is x355xx at the 3rd fret. It has no open strings, so it’s a movable shape — slide it along the neck for other power chord chords. Don’t strum the low E, B and high E strings.

On piano, C5 sits entirely on white keys.

On ukulele the usual C5 shape is 0033, with a small 2-string barre at the 3rd fret.

Related chords

Move a single note and C5 becomes a different chord: add E for C, add E♭ for Cm, add F for Csus4 and add D for Csus2.
